Workshop No. 3!

Wow, we just had a great workshop at the Asylum Seekers Centre of NSW. Thankyou everyone for joining us, the boxes were literally exploding with pinwheels!

During Sydney Design 2011, we will be holding pinwheel making workshops with members of the local Surry Hills community and asylum seeker community.

We will be handmaking pinwheels from recycled materials and 'planting' a garden of pinwheels on the grassy knoll at Taylor Square, Darlinghurst.

By contributing to a meaningful public art project, this group of individuals will connect to the city and to one another.

This project is facilitated by Belqis Youssofzay and Claire McCaughan with support from Sydney Design 2011, the Asylum Seeker Centre of NSW, Reverse Garbage and Sam Crawford Architects.

Bel & Claire are interested in artistic & collaborative ways to connect and include our asylum seeker and refugee community with our city.
